2 Chainz is the latest in a growing line of rappers breaking into the bud business.
Last week, the rapper posted videos and photos of his newest venture, Gas Cannabis Co., which he says is an acronym for “good ass shit”. The premium cannabis brand was created in partnership with Green Street Agency and Mazel Management Group.
The line includes three strains, named after the common octane levels found at a gas station: “87”, “89”, and “93”. The strains come in a selection of pre-rolled joints and eighths (3.5 grams of flower). The company says concentrates, topicals, and edibles will be available in the future.
“I know quality GAS by the look, the feel, the smoke,” 2 Chainz said in a statement.
“GAS stands for one thing, and you’ll know it when you experience it.”
2 Chainz is a longtime consumer, almost always seen with a blunt on stage, but has been exploring the premium weed market over the last year. In late 2017, he paired up with media publications Viceland and GQ to produce Most Expensivist—a television series in which he tests products with absurdly high price tags. In the show, he tries a number of pricey pot products, including a $150,000 pipe, $20-per-piece weed-infused chicken wings, and flower that retails for $60 an eighth (all in USD).
Gas Cannabis will only be available in select dispensaries throughout California.
