A legal marijuana grow-op in Abbotsford was robbed this morning (January 10).
Police are looking for three men after they stole cannabis and a truck from federally licensed growers who live in the 2200 block of Windsor Street, according to a media release.
“The resident called the police to report that he and his teenage son were sleeping when three masked men brandishing firearms forced entry into their home, and tied them up,” the release continues.
“The suspects proceeded to rob them of an undisclosed amount of marijuana and their 2011 white Ford F350, bearing license plate LS 9325. The victims did not sustain any injuries.”
Robberies have become a bit of an issue for storefront dispensaries in Ontario. Last November, for example, Hamilton police arrested three people who allegedly stole from the Delta Nine Medical Dispensary. And earlier this month, the Blue Ox dispensary, also in Hamilton, was robbed by two masked men.
Dispensary robberies haven’t been as much of a problem in Vancouver, although a Weeds Glass and Gifts on Main Street was robbed in January 2015 and a Stressed and Depressed shop on East 41st Avenue was held up in October 2017.
Crimes against licensed growers like the home that was targeted in Abbotsford this morning have been less common.
