Bif Naked has never been happy to wear a single hat as far as her career goes. First surfacing in the Vancouver alt-rock scene as a member of Gorilla Gorilla, the woman born Beth Torbert has established herself as a platinum-selling solo artist, successful author (I, Bificus), occasional actor, animal rights advocate, and social media heavyweight (141k followers on Twitter, and 35.5k fans on Instagram).
Now she’s headed to Vancouver to discuss her recent entry into the cannabidiol market. Naked and a support team launched an organic CBD product line in the fall of 2019 under the name MonaLisaHealing. On February 1 and 2 she’ll speak at the Vancouver Convention Centre as part of the Wellness Show.
Naked’s boutique operation offers lab-tested CBD tinctures sourced from organic B.C. hemp. For those who associate anything cannabis-related with Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and bottomless bags of Old Dutch potato chips, CBD contains zero THC—the psychoactive ingredient that gets you high.
Research has suggested that CBD may however have benefits that help users cope with pain, anxiety, cognitive problems, and movement disorders.
MonaLisaHealing.com began servicing Canada and the U.S. last fall, and plans to make its cannabidiol tinctures available to the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand later this year.
Naked will discuss the new business venture as part of Wellness Show panel talks titled “An Enlightening Discussion” (2 p.m. Saturday) and “Personally Taking Control & Managing Our Health Outcome’ (2 p.m. Sunday).
