Pot smokers in the Shaughnessy and the Fairview neighbourhoods will have access easier access to legal weed.
That’s because the City of Vancouver has issued a retail business licence to Muse Cannabis Store at 3039 Granville Street.
It’s in the upscale South Granville shopping district across the street from Meinhardt Fine Foods.
“The local business community in South Granville is already welcoming us with open arms,” Muse Cannabis CEO Mike McKee said on the South Granville Business Improvement Association website. “We spent time canvassing local businesses throughout the application process and our future neighbours couldn’t be more excited to see us open.”
Muse also has stores in Campbell River and Courtenay.
Obtaining a retail business licence is the final step to open a legal cannabis store in Vancouver.
According to the city, 26 applicants have gone through a public-notification requirement and been recommended for approval to the provincial government.
Six privately owned retail stores have been approved.
Two are Hobo outlets on Main Street and in Marpole, two are City Cannabis Co. stores on Robson and Fraser streets, and the other is Evergreen Cannabis on West 4th Avenue.
