The City of Vancouver has refused an application for a new Dutch Love cannabis store.
The proposed shop at 2560 Arbutus Street would have been the second retail location of the business in the neighbourhood of Kitsilano.
Online, city hall indicates that the application was considered on February 16, and “refused”.
The city also notes that the applicant has the “right to appeal this decision of refusal” to the Board of Variance.
No reason was provided about the decision to reject the application.
Had it been approved, the planned Arbutus retail would have made the sixth location of Dutch Love in Vancouver.
The cannabis business, which operates under the corporate name Lightbox Enterprises Ltd., has a Kitsilano area store at 1952 West 4th Avenue.
Lightbox is affiliated with the Donnelly Group, a hospitality company that operates pubs and barbershops in Vancouver and Toronto.
