Michigan has become the latest American state to allow retail weed sales.
And judging from the first day on December 1, it’s a popular move.
Massive crowds stretching around a large block showed up outside one dispensary in Ann Arbor, which is home to the University of Michigan.
According to cannabis market analyst Benjamin Smith, this was for pot that’s selling for US$17 per gram.
That’s significantly higher than what people are paying in Canada.

Michigan is the 10th state to legalize recreational cannabis. The 11th will be Illinois on January 1.
In both jurisdictions buyers have to be over 21 years old.
