During a traffic stop in southeastern B.C., an RCMP officer wound up arresting two men and seizing a large haul of cannabis.
An RCMP officer stopped a pickup with a trailer on Highway 3 near Salmo, B.C., for a suspected driver’s license infraction.
When the officer spoke with the two male occupants in the pickup, the officer arrested both men for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
After searching the pickup and trailer, the officer found over 159 kilograms (350 pounds) of cannabis in vacuum-sealed bags.
While the pickup and trailer were seized, both men were released on a promise to appear in court at a future date while the investigation is continuing on. The identities of the men, who are from the West Kootenays, have not been released.
