Today, police in Vancouver raided three residences in connection with a series of early-morning dispensary raids in Toronto.
Toronto police served 12 warrants and executed raids at seven cannabis dispensaries, all owned by B.C.-based Canna Clinic, as well as five residences.
Six individuals were charged in the raids, and are due to appear in court tomorrow morning. Toronto police did not provide information about the charges those individuals will face.
This is not the first time the dispensaries have been raided by the Toronto police.
‘The law still makes what these people are doing illegal,’ Mark Pugash, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service, told CBC.
‘We will continue to enforce the law–if we charge people with repeated offences, that’s an issue for the courts to deal with.’
Canna Clinic’s Vancouver dispensaries are located at 2223 Commercial Drive, 1812 West 4th Avenue, 725 Nelson Street, and 2347 East Hastings Street.
