Silo Wellness psychedelic retreats in Jamaica initiate participants to psilocybin

Silo Wellness Inc. is not entirely new to the field of psychedelic retreats.

Founded in Oregon in 2018 and headquartered in the Canadian city of Toronto, the company focuses on psychedelic and functional mushrooms for wellness.

Since January 2021, Silo Wellness has been holding retreats in its native home of Oregon.

These sessions are assisted by another psychedelic substance, which is ketamine.

A month later in February of last year, it began sessions in Jamaica with psilocybin, the psychoactive substance in what is popularly known as magic mushrooms.

In a media release Wednesday (February 23), Silo Wellness announced that it has completed its first Jamaican psilocybin retreat of 2022.

Titled “Renew Your Purpose”, the five-day and four-night session was “centered around purpose and self-reflection”.

The media release quoted Whitney Leming-Salisbury, a participant from the U.S.

“I felt like a neural pathway in my brain had opened up. There was a release,” Leming-Salisbury said.

“The combination of yoga, ceremonies, the workshops and one on one sessions with the guides, really solidified my integration with the medicine,” the participant continued.

Moreover, Leming-Salisbury described psilocybin as the “most beautiful approach” she has ever taken as part of a healing therapy.

Silo Wellness CEO Douglas K. Gordon remarked: “This is why we do what we do: to safely introduce individuals to psychedelics in a legal place in the western hemisphere.”

Online, the company explains that its psychedelic mushroom retreats in Jamaica allow participants to “relax and re-centre”.

It notes that no medical treatment or psychotherapy is offered at the retreats.

“Mushrooms and these retreats do not cure or mitigate any physical or mental disease, symptoms, disorders or abnormalities,” the firm states.

One must be 21 years of age or older in order to be considered for one of the psychedelic retreats.

In addition, Silo Wellness notes that its current process includes two separate dosing of psychedelics.
